CBA follows best practices for student data protection:

  • No public posting of student information without parental consent
  • No sharing of student data with advertisers or external marketing companies


5. Photos, Videos, and Media Use

CBA may capture photos or videos during school activities for:

  • We will only use student images with signed parental consent. Parents may opt out at any time by contacting the office and updating student records.


6. Data Security

  • Staff training on privacy and confidentiality

9.  FERPA  & COPPA Compliance Statement 

  • Cornerstone Baptist Academy is a private Christian school and is not legally required to follow the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). However, CBA voluntarily upholds FERPA‑aligned best practices to protect student records and ensure parent access to educational in& formation.
  • CBA does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under the age of 13 without parental consent, in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).


10.  Data Retention Policy 

  • CBA retains student records only as long as necessary for educational, administrative, and legal purposes. Academic and financial records may be stored for up to seven years after a student leaves the Academy. Emergency forms, medical information, and media consent records are deleted when no longer needed or when a parent withdraws consent.
  • Digital communication records (emails, messaging logs, etc.) may be retained for security and documentation purposes.


11. Third‑Party Communication & Educational Platforms (Added Section)

CBA may use third‑party tools such as email services, text alert systems, learning platforms, or communication apps. Use of these platforms is subject to the privacy policies of those providers. CBA does not control or guarantee the privacy practices of external communication services.

Parents may request information about which platforms are currently in use.
